On returning from long hunting trips in the mountains, men from the Mapuche tribe were eager to see their women. The women, in turn, wore their most prized jewels for their men to recognize them from a very long distance, while approaching the campsite. But the chief had a claim: that he must recognize his queen from all of the women, who stood with their elegant dark manes in the wind, displaying their jewelry. For this he ordered a special necklace, that would project a magical glare on his love's radiant face. So came this dashing necklace of gold plated bronze plaques like mirrors, which reflect the intense glow of the Andean sun.
Seven graduated hand forged bronze plaques, dipped in 18K yellow gold. Leather string.
Dimensions: 16 inches long. Plaques are 1 inch wide and 2 to 2.7 inches high.
All measurements are approximate.
